That’s me…

I’m a 20-something living and working in the Cumming/Alpharetta, GA area.

I’m a software support engineer at RenewedVision, makers of ProPresenter, ProVideoPlayer, and ProVideoSync. I’ve been working there since July 2010. I handle a lot of tech support calls and emails, but I’m also a project manager for our Windows version of ProPresenter. I’m a Mac user, personally, but I know Windows just as well as OS X.

I have been involved with some form of live production, mostly in church, since I was a kid. I became actively involved in youth group in 6th grade when I started running sound and PowerPoint on Wednesday nights. In 7th grade I became involved with Sunday morning production in “big church” and was quickly making a name for myself at church by 8th grade. I lead software upgrades from PowerPoint and SongShowPlus to MediaShout on all of the computers at the church. I spent the next five years running sound and MediaShout almost weekly for youth group, and regularly on Sunday mornings and for special events. That all lead to me going to Belmont.

I graduated from Belmont University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. I majored in Music Business with an emphasis on live production. While at Belmont I was actively involved in our student-run music showcases. These were full-scale concert productions. All of the bands that performed were students at Belmont, and all the production was handled mostly by Belmont students with oversight by industry professions. I moved through the ranks of production assistant, stage manager, production manager, monitor engineers, and producer. As a producer, I won “Best Showcase of the Year” in 2009 for the Rock Showcase. The lead singer of the band that won recently appeared with a group on “The Sing-Off”.

After graduation I began working at a large church in Nashville as the monitor engineer, set carpenter, and “whatever else we need done guy”. While working there I learned that soldering isn’t something I’m good at, but fortunately the scar to prove it has vanished. While working there I was approached by RenewedVision after several of my friends recommended me to them. The rest of that story is obvious since I work at RenewedVision now.
